Debra Messing Tony topknot explained

Debra Messing's Tony Awards topknot has been explained by its creator.
The actress wowed at the awards ceremony in New York City, where she displayed a tightly-styled version of the hair trend, combined with a lot of volume. This resulted in a texture contrast with sleek sides giving way to a bumped-up, volumised crown section, with the bun nestled on top.
Celebrity stylist Ted Gibson shared his inspiration for her look and his tips for recreating the style at home.
"Fred Leighton jewels inspired me to create this polished chignon for Debra Messing for the Tonys," he told BellaSugar.com.
"To get a dressy topknot à la Debra, you need three things: a flat iron with no curves, a bungee elastic (to hold the ponytail in place), and a shine-enhancing lotion."
Ted says the best way to do the style itself is to start with straightening your hair in strands. The style expert explained how most of the look is created through pre-preparation such as back combing to ensure the height remains noticeable all night.
"After blowing out her hair for volume, I used a flat iron set at 350 degrees," he continued. "Then I pulled Debra's hair back into a ponytail at the crown, using the shine lotion to enhance and bungee elastic to hold. Next, I backcombed the ponytail, twisting the hair onto itself. A few hairpins were used to set the style, along with a few spritzes of hair spray. The effect was glamorous, elegant, and timeless." (Source)

Vince Vaughn: I sold tickets to police rodeo

Vince Vaughn had some “thankless” jobs in the past.
The Internship star didn’t always have an exciting career to look forward to. Vince took on some bizarre tasks before he made it in Hollywood.
“I spent one summer in telemarketing in this unmarked building in Waukegan, Illinois,” he recalled to People magazine.
“We were selling tickets for a police rodeo. Looking back, I don’t know if there ever was a rodeo. Talk about thankless.”
Vince also once protected people’s lives for a living.
Unfortunately many of his loved ones wouldn’t quite classify his job as life-saving.
“I was a lifeguard at the YMCA, and one day there was a woman in the pool who was not a good swimmer and started to slowly drift toward the deep end,” he said.
“So I got in the pool and just lightly dragged her over to the shallow end. My boss said, ‘Congratulations on your first save.’ When I told my dad, he said that there wasn’t anything ‘save’ about it. He took it off the big board, and rightfully so.”
The Internship hits cinemas worldwide from this month.
The comedy also starring Owen Wilson follows two floundering salesmen who compete against university students for full-time employment during a summer internship programme at Google headquarters. (Source)

Brooke Mueller checks out of rehab

Brooke Mueller has reportedly checked out of the Betty Ford rehabilitation centre.
The actress left the facility where she was being treated for drug addictions in order to seek help elsewhere.
The star has gone on to another establishment in Orange County, California which she is hoping will provide a different experience.
According to TMZ, Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife felt the place was good for "detoxing" for 30 days.
However she desired a contrasting accommodation to help her prepare for life back at home.
Brooke isn’t the only celebrity to have ditched the upscale Betty Ford building recently.
Lindsay Lohan also exited this week because her judge and prosecutor felt the programme had value for 30 days, but not the full 90.
The actress apparently agreed with the sentiments.
Brooke, 42, is currently embroiled in a custody battle with actor Charlie over their four-year-old twin sons Bob and Max.
Charlie’s former spouse Denise Richards is temporarily taking care of them while she sobers up.
Her rehab stint is said to be the 20th she has entered treatment for substance abuse.
Denise thinks Brooke’s breakdown has actually improved her relationship with the father of her two daughters Sam and Lola.
“This is awful to say, but it's true. When his third marriage started to fall apart, he and I started to become friendly,” she told HuffPost Live. “In the last few years, things have gotten really great with us. We're very close and we're good friends, which is great because it's great for our kids.” (Source)

Alexander Skarsgård 'wants wife'

Alexander Skarsgård has reportedly been joking that he's in desperate need of a wife.
The Swedish star has set women's pulses racing with his portrayal of hunky Eric Northman in True Blood. Earlier this month there was speculation he was dating his The East co-star Ellen Page after a photo of them snuggling up was posted on Twitter.
Although it's speculated that they grew close during the shoot, the pair are thought to be just good friends.
According to a new report, Alexander is hoping to settle down soon and was overheard discussing his predicament at a party connecting to The East held in Hollywood.
"When one friend asked him what was wrong, Alex said he still really misses his ex-girlfriend Kate Bosworth and need a wife to take care of him… he was joking but you could tell he was really hurting," an insider told American magazine Star.
The 36-year-old star is thrilled with how well his career has taken off in recent years. However, he apparently can't help thinking things would be more fun if he had a girlfriend in his life.
"Alex is incredibly lonely and has been for a long time – he wants to find that special someone," the source added.
It seems the actor isn't spending too much time obsessing about his private life though. He recently revealed he is looking forward to finishing up work on the latest season of vampire TV show True Blood as he wants some time to himself.
"We wrap in a couple of weeks and I’m going to go to Iceland on a week-long hike. No phone, no iPad, no nothing - I’m very excited about that," he said. (Source)

Emma Watson to focus on theatre

According to "The Bling Ring" star, Emma Watson, she plans to do theatre once she has earned her degree from Brown University as she put her education on hold in 2011 to concentrate on films.
"I'd love to try theater. I've never done it before. I did some theater at Brown. I love the camaraderie of a theater group," said Watson during her brief interview with USA Today.
She added, "As soon as I graduate, that's my next thing." Watson will head back to Brown this fall with apparently three more classes to complete.
Watson's most recent film is Sofia Coppola's crime drama "The Bling Ring", which is inspired by actual events that involves a group of fame-obsessed teenagers using the Internet to track celebrities' whereabouts in order to rob their homes.
Watson will next be seen in Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's apocalyptic comedy "This Is The End", Darren Aronofsky's "Noah" and David Heyman's forthcoming trilogy "Queen Of The Tearling" which is described as a female version of "Game Of Thrones". (Source)

Amy Adams: I have no game

Amy Adams has "no game" when it comes to playing it cool in front of Hollywood stars.
The 38-year-old actress has starred alongside some of the world's biggest names, including Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Clint Eastwood. Despite her burgeoning success as one of Hollywood's hottest talents, Amy often falls to pieces in front of her famous counterparts.
“My characters are far more interesting than I am,” she revealed in an interview with British newspaper The Times, before recalling eating a meal with Gary Oldman at last year’s Toronto Film Festival. “I just went, ‘Oh my gosh, I can’t believe I’m sitting here with you. You’re so amazing!’ I can’t play it cool. I have no game.”
Amy has three-year-old Aviana with her long-term partner Darren Le Gallo. The redheaded star's daughter has changed her life "on a human level" and she feels more confident taking on iconic film roles such as her most recent part of Lois Lane in the new Superman reboot, Man of Steel.
"The audience is ready to accept me in that role and I don’t have to force toughness into Lois. Plus, I think it’s simply that I’m a lot more centred in my life right now. I’m definitely more confident than I was when I first read a Superman script," she said.
“Having a child does that to you. I’ve been with my man for 11 years; I’m surrounded by good people. So it means that I’ve shed this desire to please people. I still have it, but it’s not at the forefront of my thoughts.”
Amy is famed for her upbeat nature, having taken on the role of Princess Giselle in Disney's 2007 film Enchanted. The star never lets her manners slip.
“The thing is, for me, it’s still important to do the right thing and to be polite,” she smiled. “It still really bothers me if someone misperceives my behaviour as rude or dismissive. A lot of this is personal choice. Some people are just born with it. I don’t know, I think I just come from a long line of cheerful women.” (Source)

Kristin Cavallari, Jay Cutler Exchange Wedding Vows at Nashville Church Ceremony

Time to party! Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler had a wedding ceremony in Nashville, Tenn. on Saturday, June 8, Us Weekly can confirm.
After tying the knot at the Davidson County Clerk's office in Nashville, Tenn. on Friday, June 7 -- buying a marriage license and tweeting pictures of their wedding rings -- the couple celebrated with a ceremony at the Woodmont Christian Church on Saturday, June 8.
According to the church's website, the venue where the couple said "I do" was listed #1 on Martha Stewart's "Wedding Ceremony Locations in the South," described as "small and traditional with a bright, modern interior and a skyscraping steeple."
A source tells Us that the couple's friends started celebrations the night before at Robert's Western World in Nashville on Friday night.
The former Hills star, 26, and the Chicago Bears quarterback, 30, welcomed their first child together, son Camden, last August. They were first engaged in April 2011, but briefly called it off in July 2011 before reconciling.
"It's going to be about 150 people, so not huge," Cavallari told Us in May of the nuptials. "I was never the girl who dreamt about my wedding or any of that stuff, but the wedding how we're planning is exactly what I wanted. I think it's going to be perfect for what we're doing." (Source)

Scarlett Johansson Sues French Publisher

Scarlett Johansson is not saying "oui, oui" to a bestselling novel in France, suing publisher JC Lattes for the unauthorized use of her name.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress is less than pleased that she was depicted in the book, The First Thing We Look At, and has filed a lawsuit, seeking compensation and damages for “breach and fraudulent use of personal rights,” and seeks a ban on “future transfer of rights and adaptations of the book.”
The book, which was published in France on March 20, reportedly centers around a mechanic who meets a woman asking for help. The mechanic believes the woman is Johansson, but the character is actually revealed as a woman named Jeanine Foucaprez, who looks nearly identical to the Avengers actress.
The book's author, Gregoire Delacourt, told French newspaper Le Figaro that he was “stunned” by the lawsuit.
“This corresponds with the fantasies of our times," he said, noting that he also compared a male lead character in the novel to actor Ryan Gosling. "All these famous people live with us. But I wrote a book of fiction. My character is not Scarlett Johansson, it is [character name] Jeanine Foucaprez!”
He added to French radio RTL, "It’s a bit silly to say that if you talk about a person, the courts have to get involved. That’s quite sad."
Johansson is currently filming her 2014 movie, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, reprising her role as Natasha Romanoff. (Source)

Justin Bieber Reveals Cover of New Single 'Heartbreaker'

Justin Bieber released the artwork of his upcoming single, "Heartbreaker", via his Instagram page on Tuesday, June 4. He posted the same image several times with different captions. "... Coming soon," he captioned the first one.
For the second caption, he apparently told his fans to help him promote the single, saying, "Tell a friend to tell a friend." "Don't tell me your my.... #justinbieber #heartbreaker," he wrote on the third picture before finally revealing the single title, "Heartbreaker #Justinbiebernewsingle."
The 19-year-old singer is not featured in the picture. The simple artwork, which slightly resembles Kanye West's "808 & Heartbreak" album cover, only sees a little cupid on the left side aiming his arrow at the purple faded heart.
Bieber hasn't confirmed when the single will be released or if it will be included in his forthcoming album.
While there's still no further words on Bieber's new single and album, Bieber's on-and-off girlfriend, Selena Gomez, has generously shared some details on her own release. After unveiling a new single, "Slow Down", she announced that her "Stars Dance" album would hit stores on July 23. (Source)

Michael Jackson mother accused of ‘extortion’

The head of concert promoters AEG Live has admitted in court in Los Angeles he believes a legal action filed by Michael Jackson’s mother Katherine is a “baseless extortion” attempt.
Katherine Jackson claims the concert promoters failed to investigate the doctor who was later convicted of causing her son’s death in 2009.
AEG Live are being sued for $40 billion (£26 billion).
Randy Phillips says AEG bear no responsibility for Jackson’s death.
‘Shakedown’
When asked on Tuesday by Katherine Jackson’s lawyer whether he thought the case was a “baseless extortion, a shakedown of AEG Live”, Phillips answered: “Yes.”
It is likely he will be asked about numerous emails he sent and received about Jackson’s health in the final weeks of the singer’s life, as well as any interactions he had with his physician Conrad Murray.
AEG Live claims it was not responsible for the hire or supervision of the doctor and has called the legal action “preposterous”.
AEG denies hiring Murray and agreeing to pay his fee as an advance to Michael Jackson.
Murray agreed to serve as the pop star’s doctor for $150,000 a month while he performed shows at London’s 02 Arena in 2009 and early 2010.
He was convicted in 2011 of involuntary manslaughter after supplying Jackson with a surgical anaesthetic.
The civil trial is now in its sixth week. (Source)

Channing Tatum Talks New Baby: ‘I’d Never Medicate My Child’

Channing Tatum became a father for the first time last week with the arrival of daughter Everly and while he might be new to fatherhood it seems the Magic Mike star knows exactly what kind of dad he’s going to be, insisting in a new interview that he’ll never “medicate” his child if they have learning disabilities.
In a new interview, conducted before the arrival of his first child, the actor claimed that due to his own experience of being medicated to deal with behavioural issues he wouldn’t take the same route as it made him feel “soul less”.
“I truly believe some people need medication,” he told Vanity Fair magazine.
“I did not. I did better at school when I was on it, but it made me a zombie. You become obsessive. Dexedrine, Adderall. It’s like any other drug. It’s like coke, or crystal meth. The more you do, the less it works. For a time, it would work well.
He explained: “Then it worked less and my pain was more. I would go through wild bouts of depression, horrible comedowns. I understand why kids kill themselves. I absolutely do. You feel terrible. You feel soul-less. I’d never do it to my child.”
Reflecting on his own up bringing, Tatum admitted his parents weren’t always perfect and he’d try not to make the same mistakes.
“They weren’t perfect,” he claimed, “I don’t know anyone who did have perfect parents. It’s provided me with lessons I’ll try to improve upon when I’m up to bat. I’m just going to be a good friend to my kid.
“One thing I definitely want to change is that whole ‘I don’t want you to make the same mistakes’ mentality. My dad didn’t have much money growing up; he didn’t have much of an education. He forced that on me, and I didn’t want it.” (Source)

Kristen Stewart lands two new roles

Kristen Stewart has landed roles in both ‘Camp X-Ray’ and ‘Sils Maria’.
The 23-year-old actress has a busy summer ahead after committing to shoot Peter Sattler’s politically charged flick and Olivier Assayas’ new drama back-to-back, according to Deadline.
‘Camp X-Ray’ will be a big departure for the ‘Twilight’ actress, who is set to star as a young woman who joins the army in a bid to escape her small-town life, only to find herself sent to work at Guantanamo Bay detention camp. Suffering from abuse from the men in her charge, she forms an unlikely bond with a man who has been incarcerated for eight years.
Gina Kwon and Sophia are on board as producers, while Sattler will bring his own script to life.
Stewart will then join an A-list cast including Juliette Binoche and Chloe Grace Moretz in ‘Sils Maria’.
French filmmaker Assayas wrote the film about an actress suffering from a midlife crisis specifically for Binoche, who he worked with on ‘Summer Hours’.
Binoche’s character becomes obsessed with a young actress (Moretz) who is playing the part which originally made her famous, while Stewart has been cast as Binoche’s assistant.
The brunette recently pulled out of Warner Bros.’ forthcoming heist thriller ‘Focus’, and is also due to film a sequel to ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’. (Source)

What do you call a Rocknroll baby? Kate Winslet is expecting her first child with Richard Branson's nephew Ned Rocknroll, who was born Ned Abel Smith and chose – entirely voluntarily – to become Mr Rocknroll instead. There's a decent chance the baby will eventually choose to make a surname switch of its own, but for now little Baby Rocknroll needs a first name. So here are a few suggestions:

Biblical: Godgave Rocknroll

Frenchy: L'englive Rocknroll

Mysterious initial: I. Love Rocknroll

Japanese-ish: Itsone Lee Rocknroll

Ancient Greek: Thisis Rocknroll

George Clooney Rips Romance Rumor

More than one eyebrow was raised when In Touch Weekly sent out a bombshell headline Tuesday morning that George Clooney was spotted getting cozy with a woman who isn’t his girlfriend.
According to the magazine, People's 2006 Sexiest Man Alive, "was spotted holding hands with his ex-fling — Croatian model Monika Jakisic — at Loulou's members-only club on May 25 in Mayfair, London."
"They seemed to be having a great old time together," an eyewitness tells In Touch. "He didn't seem to care who saw them. He was being openly affectionate."
Don't believe everything you read though! The "Gravity" actor was quick to put an immediate end to the rumors.
"The story is made up. I wasn't holding anybody's hand. Stop trying to sell magazines by creating scandal that isn't there," Clooney said via a statement from his rep.
So, there you have it.
The report probably didn't thrill Clooney's girlfriend of almost two years, Stacy Keibler. Still, Keibler is known for her sense of humor towards media scrutiny. (Source)

LeAnn Rimes: I Was Disgusted With Myself After Cheating

LeAnn Rimes says she was disgusted with herself after having an affair with the then-married Eddie Cibrian.
"I was feeling all these crazy emotions and feeling terrible about myself and was disgusted by myself and thought I was pathetic," she tells Us Weekly
Rimes and Cibrian met on the set of the 2009 Lifetime TV movie, Northern Lights, when they were both married to other people. Rimes was previously married to Dean Sheremet, but they separated following reports of her extramarital relationship with Cibrian. The divorce was finalized in December of that year and she moved in with Cibrian, who divorced his wife of eight years, Brandi Glanville, shortly thereafter. Rimes and Cibrian wed in 2011.
In August 2012, Rimes checked into an in-patient facility for help with emotional issues.
"I went in and took care of myself because I was stressed, I was depressed and anxious, and I didn't know how to process everything," she told the magazine. "Going away was something I really needed to do."
While in treatment, Rimes continued to work on her 11th studio album Spitfire, which she said helped process more of her emotions. Now, Rimes says she's proud of who she is.
"Sometimes it takes walking through those tough times to come out the other side stronger and wiser," she says. "I'm gonna make mistakes as I move on in life, but that's who we are, and I'm fortunate that I've grown a lot and I'm proud of who I am now...it's a good place to be." (Source)

How Much Does Aaron Paul Love His New Bride? Check Instagram

Since tying the knot on Sunday, "Breaking Bad" star Aaron Paul has been keeping fans in the loop on how much he loves his bride ... and sharing photos from their big day.
The 33-year-old actor, who plays the foul-mouthed-but-big-hearted meth maker Jesse Pinkman on the AMC series, married his longtime girlfriend, Lauren Parsekian, in Malibu, California, on Sunday.
"And so it begins," Paul first tweeted on Friday, along with a photo of the happy couple and the hashtag #mrmrspaul, hinting that the wedding weekend was underway.
The actor and his groomsmen, including co-star Bryan Cranston, wore black tuxes, while the bride donned a Kenneth Pool “Paris” gown by designer Amsale Aberra. The couple threw a 1920s Parisian carnival-themed wedding and guests were asked to show up with masquerade masks. But it wasn't just guests who were required to wear the masks -- the bride and groom did too.
"A day will never go by without me reminding you how special you are," Paul wrote on his Instagram account on Monday, along with a shot of the two in disguise at the wedding. "Thanks for last night my pretty little bird."Prior to the ceremony on Sunday, Parsekian gave the world a sneak peek at her wedding-day look, posting a pic of herself getting her hair done to Instagram, writing, "Wedding time. Did my own make up!"
The event sounded fun-filled for sure, and featured a small ferris wheel, swing ride, and photo booth. As for entertainment, there were stilt walkers, burlesque dancers, fabled magician David Blaine doing tricks, and even a performance by pop star John Mayer, who sang “Daughters” while Parsekian danced with her father.
Paul and Parsekian met at Coachella Arts and Music Festival in Indio, California, in 2010, and became friends. A year later, they returned to the fest and shared their first kiss on a Ferris wheel. "You know when people say, 'When you know, you know? It was crazy," Paul told GQ in 2012. "The moment that happened … I couldn't imagine myself being without her."
On New Year's Eve 2011 they became engaged during a holiday getaway to Paris. Paul later recounted to People magazine how they were outside of a hotel, dancing to Édith Piaf by themselves, when he "begged her" to marry him, noting, "I'm the luckiest man on the planet. It doesn't make sense to me. The way she looks at me ... She has that magical glow about her."
Clearly not shy about expressing his feelings for her, he also openly gushed about his main squeeze during his acceptance speech at the 2012 Emmys, saying, "You truly saved me."
Parsekian, 25, is a film director-producer, but also the co-founder of the nonprofit organization Kind Campaign, which is a movement, documentary, and school program established to eradicate girl-against-girl bullying. As a young girl growing up in Laguna Niguel, California, she was the target of bullying that got so bad, she actually attempted suicide.
These days, Parsekian is probably feeling more love than ever thanks to hubby Paul's non-stop flattery.
"I married my best friend on Sunday and I can't stop staring at her," the actor wrote on Tuesday, when he posted a photo of his gorgeous bride online. "Love you pretty." (Source)

Police: Amanda Bynes Was Not Sexually Harassed

Police have found "no evidence" to support Amanda Bynes' claims that she was sexually harassed by an officer during her arrest last week, the New York Police Department said Tuesday.
"Internal Affairs investigators have found no evidence to corroborate Ms. Bynes' allegations," the NYPD said in a statement. "To the contrary
, a credible civilian witness who was with the officers throughout told investigators that none touched Ms. Bynes inappropriately or otherwise engaged in misconduct at any time."
Last Thursday, Bynes was arrested after police said she threw a bong out her apartment window and was seen smoking a joint in the complex lobby. After her release the next morning, Bynes shared her version of the incident, which included an officer "slapping her vagina" and claims that the police fabricated the alleged bong-toss. Bynes then shared her plans to sue both the NYPD "for illegally entering my apartment, lying about drugs on me and lying about me tampering with non-existent drug paraphernalia" and her apartment complex for lying about her smoking in the building.
Bynes, who's due in court July 9, faces charges of unlawful possession of marijuana, reckless endangerment and tampering with evidence. (Source)

Taylor Swift’s ‘Trespasser’ Might Not Be That Into Her After All

It's possible that the young man accused of trespassing near Taylor Swift's posh new Rhode Island summer home may not have deserved the "crazed fan" label after all.
Lucas H. Vorsteveld, who made headlines earlier this month after being arrested near the country singer's newly purchased $17.75 million property in the exclusive coastal town of Watch Hill (population: 154), appeared in court Friday and pleaded no contest to a trespassing charge. The 22-year-old, who was wearing a button-down denim shirt and khaki shorts for his day in court, will have the charge expunged from his record if he stays out of trouble for one year.
However, while Vorsteveld did not dispute that he had trespassed, it's possible that the incident may not have been directly related to the 22-year-old songstress after all. Captain Shawn Lacey of Rhode Island’s Westerly Police Department told The Westerly Sun newspaper that there was no evidence that he had trespassed on Swift’s property before being found in the bushes on a nearby private road leading to the Watch Hill Lighthouse.
As for reports that he was trying to swim to Swift's property, Lacey said Vorsteveld could have tried to prior to his arrest, but there was no indication from sources, including Swift’s security, that any breach in security had occurred on the star's property. (Source)

Cops Called to Justin Bieber’s House…Again

It's Justin Bieber versus his neighbors, part two.
Cops were called to the 19-year-old's home in Calabasas, California, on Sunday, omg! has confirmed, after two neighbors called into complain about the singer's reckless driving.
According to TMZ, former NFL player Keyshawn Johnson was one of those who called the police. Johnson had supposedly just left a party on Monday night inside their gated community – with his child in the car – when Bieber sped by in his Ferrari. When Johnson tried to confront the "Beauty and a Beat" singer, Bieber ran inside his house and refused to talk. The singer also reportedly did not talk to the police.
This isn't the first time the Biebs has ticked off his neighbors. Selena Gomez's on-again, off-again ex is currently being investigated for battery, stemming from the March 26 incident when a neighbor told cops Bieber made physical contact with him and threatened him. That incident allegedly happened after the neighbor confronted Bieber about driving too fast around the neighborhood, which counts many young children among its residents.
Before the most recent incident went down on Sunday, the photo agency X17 got pics of Bieber hanging at his house. The singer can be seen flipping off cameras overhead in one shot and flashing his abs in another. We also get a glimpse of Bieber's tricked out fancy cars, one all leopard.
Sounds like quite an eventful Memorial Day weekend. (Source)

Katy Perry, John Mayer Reunite, Flirt at Her Memorial Day Party

For Memorial Day 2013, Katy Perry kicked off summer with a few good friends -- including John Mayer. Two months after their second breakup, the "Shadow Days" troubadour, 35, was among the guests at Perry's brand-new Hollywood Hills home on May 27 for a barbecue bash, Us Weekly can confirm.
Whether the reunion signals a full-on reconciliation for the pair remains to be seen. "They seem to be back together -- or back together-ish," one observer tells Us of Mayer and Perry, 28. "They were very flirty and having a really good time together. They have good chemistry."
Adds another witness: "They were definitely friendly."
Other revelers for Monday's party included Girls star Allison Williams and boyfriend Ricky Van Veen -- who double dated with Perry and Mayer at the Grammys in February --- plus Mindy Kaling, BJ Novak, 2 Broke Girls' Beth Behrs, Raising Hope's Shannon Woodward, plus actresses Kate Micucci and Riki Lindhome.
Us broke news of the pair's second split in mid-March; the twosome began a casual romance during summer 2012 and briefly called it quits in August before reconciling that September. (The "Teenage Dream" singer and Russell Brand finalized their divorce in early 2012.)
"It's not over until it's over," another confidante told Us in March after Perry and Mayer's second split. "You have to see how things play out." (Source)

Rihanna and Snooki's Favorite Dance Workouts: Try Them Now!

Elliptical collecting dust in the basement? Wipe the slate clean this summer and try a brand-new dance workout routine! "In dance you use your legs but hold your form in the upper body, so you tone everything," Dancing With the Stars pro Karina Smirnoff tells Us Weekly.
For beginners, Smirnoff -- whose 50-minute Shape Up DVD features dance-inspired moves -- suggests working out in groups of 10 to 15 dancers to avoid getting lost in a large class. "If the teacher isn't paying attention, you won't push yourself as hard," explains Smirnoff, who taught Jacoby Jones to cut a rug this season on DWTS. Picking a style of dance is also important, as some steps deliver more of a card boost than others. Ballroom moves -- the waltz, the fox-trot -- burn 329 calories an hour, while hip-hop melts nearly 400.
Smirnoff, who suggests taking hourlong classes six times a week, prefers the salsa. "It's effective!" she raves of the waist-whittling (and 500-calorie zapping) specialty. Smirnoff isn't the only celeb who loves to work up a sweat on the dance floor. Rihanna, Snooki and LeAnn Rimes are three other stars who have slimmed down thanks to the high-energy routines. Read on to get inspired -- and attend a class or two -- to kickstart your summer weight loss. (Source)

Nicole Kidman, Jessica Chastain, and Others: Who Was Best Dressed at Cannes?

France and fashion are nearly synonymous, which means when the stars go to Cannes, they make sure to dress to impress. Whittling down the hundreds of gorgeous red carpet looks from the 12-day-long film festival is no small feat — especially when a slew of A-listers like Jessica Chastain and Nicole Kidman are in attendance — but then again, it wasn't terribly difficult. These four looks are luxurious, gorgeous, and, most important, memorable. (No dull LBDs or pedestrian prom dresses here!)
Kidman kicked off the festival on May 15 at the French premiere of The Great Gatsby in a sweet but chic strapless floral embroidered Christian Dior dress, pairing it with bright coral patent Dior pumps. The actress, attending this year as a jury member, would go on to walk the rouge carpet several more times during the festival in couture gowns, closing the fest on May 26 in a stunning custom Giorgio Armani bustier gown, but it was her first look that stood out.
Isla Fisher, who appears alongside Carey Mulligan and Leonardo DiCaprio in The Great Gatsby, was also a major standout at the premiere, which doubled as opening night of the festival. The actress wore a red strapless Oscar de la Renta gown and exquisite statement jewelry — a multi-colored necklace and a serpent watch, both from Bulgari Heritage. With her red hair worn down and loose, Sasha Baron Cohen's wife was the picture of unfussy glamour.
Five days later, Zoe Saldana hit the Blood Ties premiere in a dreamy gray sleeveless brocade gown from Valentino's Fall 2013 collection. David Yurman jewels in coordinating hues completed the understated yet super-stylish look.
And then there was Chastain, resplendent in a beaded custom Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci gown at the All Is Lost premiere on May 22. The sparkly and elaborately detailed dress needed no further embellishments: Chastain kept her makeup natural, her hair in a tousled ponytail, and her neck, ears and wrists free of any jewelry. Juno winners Monster Truck release debut record riding major high

The four members of head-banging Hamilton rock outfit Monster Truck are not new to the Canadian music scene, having spent the past decade diligently slugging away in bands including Saint Alvia, the Reason and Eaglefight.
But there's one crucial difference already being felt by the quartet ahead of Tuesday's release of their debut LP "Furiosity," and it's one summed up by bassist/singer Jon Harvey with a succinctness appropriate for a band known for no-nonsense chug-and-slug rock.
That difference?
"I'd say: success," Harvey says with a smile.
He elaborates no further as his more garrulous guitarist Jeremy Widerman picks up where he left off, but in this case, perhaps no more information was really needed.
For one thing, Monster Truck claimed a Juno Award, for breakthrough group of the year, at last month's ceremony in Regina, without a full-length album to their name.
And on this day, the foursome is navigating a packed day of press with slight weariness but more appreciation, having encountered enough media indifference with past projects.
Of course, there are plenty of reasons Monster Truck is attracting so much attention. Garnering comparisons to Saskatoon's shaggy retro-minded Southern rockers the Sheepdogs, Monster Truck is a throwback that mines '70s riff-rock and sludge-slinging '90s grunge in almost equal measure, simultaneously inspiring well-earned comparisons to Deep Purple (for whom they opened) and Soundgarden.
And more superficially, the band has a fairly unified sense of style, swaddled as they are in faded denim, dense beards and unkempt manes.
"It's a product of being lazy," Widerman says of the band's hirsute style.
"I don't like shaving. I just don't like it," contributes Harvey.
"I honestly just look like a six-year-old when I shave my beard off," adds Widerman. "There's lots of reasons (for our style). There's definitely that element that we all spend so much time together, there's just a natural unifying trend that happens. It's not really a conscious decision. It just kind of happens naturally as a result of spending so much time together and hanging out together. We shop at the same stores."
The band came together in similarly organic — even coincidental — fashion. "Monster Truck" was the group's nickname for drummer Steve Kiely's "loud and crappy" van. They joked that it would be a good name for a band. Two days later, they were having their first practice.
For years, they had mused on starting a riff-rock band, just idle chit-chat while hanging out and "smoking lots of joints." They talked about it more than they meant to do it, but once the moniker emerged, everything else fell into place.
The band would be a "cover band with no cover songs," Widerman explains. It was a lark, and one that they didn't necessarily take all that seriously at first.
"It was just for fun," Harvey explains. "Beer money."
But things started to happen fast. In previous bands, Widerman and Harvey agree that they were somewhat strategic in their thinking — they would try to land a video on MuchMusic, or try to secure a foothold on radio — but this time, none of those concerns seemed relevant. They just played, since after all, what chance did Monster Truck have to succeed?
"Once we stopped caring about it, those things started coming after us," Widerman recalls. "And it kind of was like, we had these tour offers and these show offers and people wanting us to go here and there. We had to reassess what we were doing. Are we going to go for this all the way? Are we going to buy a van? Are we going to take time off work?
"(We) kind of just decided that was something we wanted to give one last shot at."
Harvey and Widerman don't adore the idea that Monster Truck is simply plumbing the past. At the same time, they're quite open in citing the modest roots of some of their songs. For instance, the seed for the single "Sweet Mountain River" was planted with keyboardist Brandon Bliss's honest appraisal of a picturesque upstate New York waterway as a "sweet mountain river." The next logical thought?
"Let's call our song that and let's write it so it sounds like Mountain," Harvey explains.
Still, Widerman doesn't like being referred to as a revivalist.
"To us, it's a combination of all the best elements of rock," he said. "We really love classic rock, but at the same time, we grew up in the grunge era and we kind of evolved into listening to punk and all that.
"Being a throwback band or just doing a rehash of the '70s only," he added, "it's almost like a cop-out really because there's been so many other great things that have happened."
And good things have sure been happening to his group of late.
They can hardly believe it. Certainly, if you could go back to the band's nascent stages and tell the band's then-disillusioned principal members of their impending good fortune — Juno wins, high-profile tours, major-label distribution — you would have been promptly dismissed.
"I would have laughed in your face," Widerman said. "But the bigger shocker to us, would've been Slash is going to wear your shirt onstage. I'd be like: 'You are high. You are so high. There's no way that's going to happen.' And like, you're going to open for Deep Purple — there was no way that they are even going to know the existence of me for their entire life.
"Those moments were those things that you never count on or expect and when they happen it's just one of the sweetest things. And we couldn't be more grateful for the opportunities we've been given." (Source)

Leonardo DiCaprio: Directing Would Lead To New 'Dimension Of Obsessiveness'

Leonardo DiCaprio isn't sure if he'll ever make the leap from actor to director.
"I've been talking about [directing] a lot," the actor told the June/July issue of GQ Australia, which features the star of "The Great Gatsby" on its cover. "But I'm still not sure I'm going to do it. When you're a director you have so many different elements you need to be in control of."
The actor explained he isn't sure he could handle the stress that comes with directing a feature film.
"I get very obsessive when I do movies and it encompasses my life," he continued. "And I don't know how I'd react to 200 different people asking me questions. I might spiral off into some other dimension of obsessiveness. For now, playing the character and being responsible for myself is what I'm doing."
But, Leo said, it could happen in the future.
"You never know," he added. "I might give it a try. Because it does seem fun." (Source)

So who had the best first impression of the night and which guys should viewers keep an eye out for? Plus: How does Des stack up to previous Bachelorettes? Harrison dishes below. (Source)

Mayim Bialik, Husband Michael Stone Finalize Divorce

Mayim Bialik is officially married no more. The Big Bang Theory actress finalized her divorce from husband of nine years Michael Stone late last week, signing off on documents to divide their Los Angeles-area property evenly.
According to TMZ, Bialik, 37, will take the couple's 1,400-square-foot, one-bedroom apartment in Studio City, while Stone will get full ownership of their 1,300-square-foot, three-bedroom home in Sherman Oaks, Calif.
"It's going okay," the former Blossom star told Us Weekly of the couple's transition at Entertainment Weekly's Screen Actors Guild Awards pre-party on Jan. 26. "I mean, I have to say, I give both of us a lot of credit for putting our kids first. It's not easy, but we're doing okay, so thank God."
The couple have two young sons together -- Miles, 7, and Fred, 4, whom Bialik just recently stopped breastfeeding, she revealed in a blog post on Jewish parenting website Kveller in February.
In November, Bialik officially filed papers to start the separation process from Stone, posting about their "terribly sad" decision on Kveller.
"After much consideration and soul-searching, Michael and I have arrived at the decision to divorce due to 'Irreconcilable Differences,'" she wrote at the time. "Divorce is terribly sad, painful and incomprehensible for children. It is not something we have decided lightly."
The mother-of-two isn't in any rush to get back into the dating scene either. When asked whether she is ready to brave the waters once more, Bialik burst out laughing.
"In theory!" she told Us. "Maybe. But not now." (Source)

Scott Disick Raps, Serenades Kourtney Kardashian During Birthday Celebration

Great Scott, he can rap too? Scott Disick looked like he was having a blast celebrating his 30th birthday with friends and loved ones at Bellagio's Hyde Nightclub in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 27 -- so much so that he decided to snag the mike and take the stage for a few minutes.
The reality show star and Kourtney Kardashian's longtime love was spotted rapping at the deejay booth at one point in the night, according to an eyewitness.
"It was tough to understand what he was saying as he was rapping to music, but it looked like he was just enjoying the moment," the onlooker told Us Weekly. Disick's fun-loving antics had Kourtney, Rob and mom Kris Jenner -- who sat in a nearby table -- laughing and cheering him on.
According to the eyewitness, the club was so crowded that not many people seemed to notice the familiar face at the deejay table. Disick even serenaded Kourtney later on, and the pair smiled and giggled throughout the brief PDA.
"She was sitting on his lap at one point during the evening and the two genuinely appeared to be in love and appreciative of one another," the source continued.
Disick and Kourtney, 34, have been dating since 2006 and have two young kids together -- Mason, 3, and Penelope, 9 months -- but neither is in a rush to walk down the aisle.
"I think if it's not broke, don't fix it. You know what I mean?" Disick told Ryan Seacrest during an interview for a Kardashian family special. "I would say we're decently happy. I feel like I used to want to get married more than she did, and then, being that she was always so not interested, I've decided not to be."

Amanda Bynes Shares Plans to Sue NYPD and Become a Rapper

Forget Amanda Bynes' troubled past and look towards the future. That's what the actress is doing, at least.
On Monday, Bynes once again took to Twitter to defend herself against allegations of drug abuse and mental instability, and even went so far as to threaten legal action. "I'm suing NYPD for illegally entering my apartment, lying about drugs on me and lying about me tampering with non-existent drug paraphernalia," Bynes wrote, "Then I'm suing for being put into a mental hospital against my will, then locked up overnight for coming home after a facial and working out with my trainer like the good girl that I am."
Bynes, who was arrested Thursday for allegedly tossing a bong out her window, continues to maintain the police fabricated the story. "I'm allergic to alcohol and drugs and don't partake in any of the above. I'm so offended by all of this but so proud to not be a drug or alcohol user," she wrote. The actress also shared her plans to sue her apartment complex for making up stories about her smoking in the building.
Though the actress also claims one of the arrested officers sexually harassed her, Bynes is staying positive. "I'm free forever! You can't lock up an innocent person! Thanks for caring," Bynes shared. "Look forward to seeing me in music videos! I'm getting in shape and getting a nose job! I'm looking forward to a long and wonderful career as a singer/rapper." Rihanna Posts Racy Bath Pic — Still Feeling Sexy Without Chris Brown

This is even hotter than the time RiRi was naked in a tub for the ‘Stay’ music video! On May 24, Rihanna tweeted out yet another sexy pic, proving once more that she’s feeling breezy (get it?) and beautiful without Chris.
Instagram was invented so Rihanna could post unbelievably sexy photos and show the world — especially Chris Brown – how good she looks. And we are not complaining.
The Unapologetic singer was at it again on May 24, posting a racy pic of herself lounging in a luxurious bathtub. “Lil ol me in my big ol tub!!!” Rihanna tweeted along with the photo.
RiRi’s amazing body was on full display, as she posed seductively in a skimpy blue bikini. We’re not sure we’ve ever seen a bath tub this big, but we’re glad Rihanna found it, because she looks pretty darn good laying in it.
Rihanna’s sexuality seems to be even more accelerated lately, and a source close to the singer revealed to HollywoodLife.com why. “Being free, free from all the stress and bulls**t that was once in her life [makes her feel sexy],” the source said, referring to her fallout with Chris.
“She feels free for once and just living it up and getting ready to handle her business and get the f**k out of here on her tour,” the source added.
To say that Rihanna’s “living it up” is an understatement. The European leg of her “Diamonds” tour couldn’t have started at a better time. RiRi will continue to have a blast on the road and just let Chris do what he wants back home. She doesn’t seem to be having a problem keeping her mind off of him, and with pictures like this, it’s more likely that he’s the one who’s going to have trouble keeping his mind off of her! (Source)

Nervous Alice Fredenham cries with happiness

Nervous wreck Alice Fredenham broke down in tears again on Britain's Got Talent - but this time she was crying with happiness after being put through to the live semi-finals.
The singer, who was rejected by the show's BBC rival The Voice, vowed to start "believing" in herself after Simon Cowell told her it had been easy to put her through.
She was one of 45 contestants who made it to the next round along with Welsh bricklayer Robbie Kennedy and impressionist Francine Lewis.
The beauty therapist from Hertfordshire, who shook with fright during her first appearance on the show, said it was "torturous" waiting to find out her fate from Cowell.
She said: "I need to just start believing in myself, I think that's a good place to start."
Among the other semi-finalists revealed on the show were teenage comic Jack Carroll from Halifax. Carroll, who has cerebral palsy, said: "I can't believe that out of all these different people I've come this far."
The final 45 will now perform in the live semi-finals for the chance of winning £250,000 and a spot at the Royal Variety Performance. (Source)

Berenice Bejo wins best actress at Cannes

French actress Berenice Bejo on Sunday fought back emotion as she won best actress at the Cannes Film Festival for her turn in Iranian director Asghar Farhadi's film "The Past" for which she turned down Hollywood parts.
Bejo, 36, who was catapulted to international stardom with the hit French silent movie "The Artist", plays a wife who asks her estranged husband to return from Iran to finalise their divorce.
After the ceremony, the actress said she was touched by the award but felt uncomfortable at the idea of taking credit for Oscar winner Farhadi's Paris-set family drama.
"It is special to get a best performance prize; it is for me and I cannot imagine getting something just for me.
"I would be nothing if there weren't other actors, the director photography, and all the members of the crew," she told reporters.
"It is as if the film is being reduced just to me and I can't envision that," she added, speaking in French.
The actress -- who was born in Argentina and speaks fluent Spanish as well as English -- is married to Michel Hazanavicius, director of "The Artist" which swept the 2012 Oscars with five awards including Best Picture.
Speaking earlier in the festival, she said she received offers from Hollywood on the back of the success of "The Artist".
But she said the chance to keep working in Paris with "one of the world's best directors" was more tempting.
She said the shifting perceptions in Farhadi's films, where things are never quite what they seem, had drawn her to the character of Marie.
"For an actress it was quite an extraordinary experience -- things appear true and then turn out to be completely different," she said. (Source)

Olly Murs celebrates single success

Olly Murs is celebrating after selling 1.2 million copies in the United States of his chart topping single Troublemaker.
The Essex pop star said it was a major success for him as a new artist.
He is performing at the BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in Londonderry in Northern Ireland.
"I just sold 1.2 million from Troublemaker in the USA, that was a big thing for me as a new artist (after) all the success in the UK, to go to America and to sell a single 1.2 million (times)..is a massive achievement for me," he said. He has performed across the US and this month unveiled his new single Dear Darlin.
The Big Weekend is being held at the former Ebrington army barracks in Derry, the first time in the city for around a decade.
Other acts at the final day of the three-day event included Dublin rockers The Script.
Band member Mark Sheehan said he was delighted to be back. He said: "We are so used to it raining that when the sun finally shines we are just waiting for it to rain again, when we think people are going to walk out."
He admitted the band still experienced nerves. He added: "We have got to learn to channel it in a positive way. The day you lose that edge is when you are in trouble."
Sheehan said the vibes in Derry were brilliant and the Big Weekend was a great opportunity to attract massive live acts who usually focus on London. "The amount of money it is generating for the local area, kids out there seeing their first big concert for free, it is incredible."
Girl band Little Mix were among other performers. (Source)
