Vince Vaughn: I sold tickets to police rodeo

Vince Vaughn had some “thankless” jobs in the past.
The Internship star didn’t always have an exciting career to look forward to. Vince took on some bizarre tasks before he made it in Hollywood.
“I spent one summer in telemarketing in this unmarked building in Waukegan, Illinois,” he recalled to People magazine.
“We were selling tickets for a police rodeo. Looking back, I don’t know if there ever was a rodeo. Talk about thankless.”
Vince also once protected people’s lives for a living.
Unfortunately many of his loved ones wouldn’t quite classify his job as life-saving.
“I was a lifeguard at the YMCA, and one day there was a woman in the pool who was not a good swimmer and started to slowly drift toward the deep end,” he said.
“So I got in the pool and just lightly dragged her over to the shallow end. My boss said, ‘Congratulations on your first save.’ When I told my dad, he said that there wasn’t anything ‘save’ about it. He took it off the big board, and rightfully so.”
The Internship hits cinemas worldwide from this month.
The comedy also starring Owen Wilson follows two floundering salesmen who compete against university students for full-time employment during a summer internship programme at Google headquarters. (Source)
