Alexander Skarsgård has reportedly
been joking that he's in desperate need of a wife.
The Swedish star has set
women's pulses racing with his portrayal of hunky Eric Northman in True Blood.
Earlier this month there was speculation he was dating his The East co-star
Ellen Page after a photo of them snuggling up was posted on Twitter.
Although it's speculated that
they grew close during the shoot, the pair are thought to be just good friends.
According to a new report,
Alexander is hoping to settle down soon and was overheard discussing his
predicament at a party connecting to The East held in Hollywood.
"When one friend asked
him what was wrong, Alex said he still really misses his ex-girlfriend Kate
Bosworth and need a wife to take care of him… he was joking but you could tell
he was really hurting," an insider told American magazine Star.
The 36-year-old star is
thrilled with how well his career has taken off in recent years. However, he
apparently can't help thinking things would be more fun if he had a girlfriend
in his life.
"Alex is incredibly
lonely and has been for a long time – he wants to find that special
someone," the source added.
It seems the actor isn't
spending too much time obsessing about his private life though. He recently
revealed he is looking forward to finishing up work on the latest season of
vampire TV show True Blood as he wants some time to himself.
"We wrap in a couple of
weeks and I’m going to go to Iceland on a week-long hike. No phone, no iPad, no
nothing - I’m very excited about that," he said. (Source)
