Debra Messing Tony topknot explained

Debra Messing's Tony Awards topknot has been explained by its creator.
The actress wowed at the awards ceremony in New York City, where she displayed a tightly-styled version of the hair trend, combined with a lot of volume. This resulted in a texture contrast with sleek sides giving way to a bumped-up, volumised crown section, with the bun nestled on top.
Celebrity stylist Ted Gibson shared his inspiration for her look and his tips for recreating the style at home.
"Fred Leighton jewels inspired me to create this polished chignon for Debra Messing for the Tonys," he told BellaSugar.com.
"To get a dressy topknot à la Debra, you need three things: a flat iron with no curves, a bungee elastic (to hold the ponytail in place), and a shine-enhancing lotion."
Ted says the best way to do the style itself is to start with straightening your hair in strands. The style expert explained how most of the look is created through pre-preparation such as back combing to ensure the height remains noticeable all night.
"After blowing out her hair for volume, I used a flat iron set at 350 degrees," he continued. "Then I pulled Debra's hair back into a ponytail at the crown, using the shine lotion to enhance and bungee elastic to hold. Next, I backcombed the ponytail, twisting the hair onto itself. A few hairpins were used to set the style, along with a few spritzes of hair spray. The effect was glamorous, elegant, and timeless." (Source)

Vince Vaughn: I sold tickets to police rodeo

Vince Vaughn had some “thankless” jobs in the past.
The Internship star didn’t always have an exciting career to look forward to. Vince took on some bizarre tasks before he made it in Hollywood.
“I spent one summer in telemarketing in this unmarked building in Waukegan, Illinois,” he recalled to People magazine.
“We were selling tickets for a police rodeo. Looking back, I don’t know if there ever was a rodeo. Talk about thankless.”
Vince also once protected people’s lives for a living.
Unfortunately many of his loved ones wouldn’t quite classify his job as life-saving.
“I was a lifeguard at the YMCA, and one day there was a woman in the pool who was not a good swimmer and started to slowly drift toward the deep end,” he said.
“So I got in the pool and just lightly dragged her over to the shallow end. My boss said, ‘Congratulations on your first save.’ When I told my dad, he said that there wasn’t anything ‘save’ about it. He took it off the big board, and rightfully so.”
The Internship hits cinemas worldwide from this month.
The comedy also starring Owen Wilson follows two floundering salesmen who compete against university students for full-time employment during a summer internship programme at Google headquarters. (Source)

Brooke Mueller checks out of rehab

Brooke Mueller has reportedly checked out of the Betty Ford rehabilitation centre.
The actress left the facility where she was being treated for drug addictions in order to seek help elsewhere.
The star has gone on to another establishment in Orange County, California which she is hoping will provide a different experience.
According to TMZ, Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife felt the place was good for "detoxing" for 30 days.
However she desired a contrasting accommodation to help her prepare for life back at home.
Brooke isn’t the only celebrity to have ditched the upscale Betty Ford building recently.
Lindsay Lohan also exited this week because her judge and prosecutor felt the programme had value for 30 days, but not the full 90.
The actress apparently agreed with the sentiments.
Brooke, 42, is currently embroiled in a custody battle with actor Charlie over their four-year-old twin sons Bob and Max.
Charlie’s former spouse Denise Richards is temporarily taking care of them while she sobers up.
Her rehab stint is said to be the 20th she has entered treatment for substance abuse.
Denise thinks Brooke’s breakdown has actually improved her relationship with the father of her two daughters Sam and Lola.
“This is awful to say, but it's true. When his third marriage started to fall apart, he and I started to become friendly,” she told HuffPost Live. “In the last few years, things have gotten really great with us. We're very close and we're good friends, which is great because it's great for our kids.” (Source)

Alexander Skarsgård 'wants wife'

Alexander Skarsgård has reportedly been joking that he's in desperate need of a wife.
The Swedish star has set women's pulses racing with his portrayal of hunky Eric Northman in True Blood. Earlier this month there was speculation he was dating his The East co-star Ellen Page after a photo of them snuggling up was posted on Twitter.
Although it's speculated that they grew close during the shoot, the pair are thought to be just good friends.
According to a new report, Alexander is hoping to settle down soon and was overheard discussing his predicament at a party connecting to The East held in Hollywood.
"When one friend asked him what was wrong, Alex said he still really misses his ex-girlfriend Kate Bosworth and need a wife to take care of him… he was joking but you could tell he was really hurting," an insider told American magazine Star.
The 36-year-old star is thrilled with how well his career has taken off in recent years. However, he apparently can't help thinking things would be more fun if he had a girlfriend in his life.
"Alex is incredibly lonely and has been for a long time – he wants to find that special someone," the source added.
It seems the actor isn't spending too much time obsessing about his private life though. He recently revealed he is looking forward to finishing up work on the latest season of vampire TV show True Blood as he wants some time to himself.
"We wrap in a couple of weeks and I’m going to go to Iceland on a week-long hike. No phone, no iPad, no nothing - I’m very excited about that," he said. (Source)

Emma Watson to focus on theatre

According to "The Bling Ring" star, Emma Watson, she plans to do theatre once she has earned her degree from Brown University as she put her education on hold in 2011 to concentrate on films.
"I'd love to try theater. I've never done it before. I did some theater at Brown. I love the camaraderie of a theater group," said Watson during her brief interview with USA Today.
She added, "As soon as I graduate, that's my next thing." Watson will head back to Brown this fall with apparently three more classes to complete.
Watson's most recent film is Sofia Coppola's crime drama "The Bling Ring", which is inspired by actual events that involves a group of fame-obsessed teenagers using the Internet to track celebrities' whereabouts in order to rob their homes.
Watson will next be seen in Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's apocalyptic comedy "This Is The End", Darren Aronofsky's "Noah" and David Heyman's forthcoming trilogy "Queen Of The Tearling" which is described as a female version of "Game Of Thrones". (Source)

Amy Adams: I have no game

Amy Adams has "no game" when it comes to playing it cool in front of Hollywood stars.
The 38-year-old actress has starred alongside some of the world's biggest names, including Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Clint Eastwood. Despite her burgeoning success as one of Hollywood's hottest talents, Amy often falls to pieces in front of her famous counterparts.
“My characters are far more interesting than I am,” she revealed in an interview with British newspaper The Times, before recalling eating a meal with Gary Oldman at last year’s Toronto Film Festival. “I just went, ‘Oh my gosh, I can’t believe I’m sitting here with you. You’re so amazing!’ I can’t play it cool. I have no game.”
Amy has three-year-old Aviana with her long-term partner Darren Le Gallo. The redheaded star's daughter has changed her life "on a human level" and she feels more confident taking on iconic film roles such as her most recent part of Lois Lane in the new Superman reboot, Man of Steel.
"The audience is ready to accept me in that role and I don’t have to force toughness into Lois. Plus, I think it’s simply that I’m a lot more centred in my life right now. I’m definitely more confident than I was when I first read a Superman script," she said.
“Having a child does that to you. I’ve been with my man for 11 years; I’m surrounded by good people. So it means that I’ve shed this desire to please people. I still have it, but it’s not at the forefront of my thoughts.”
Amy is famed for her upbeat nature, having taken on the role of Princess Giselle in Disney's 2007 film Enchanted. The star never lets her manners slip.
“The thing is, for me, it’s still important to do the right thing and to be polite,” she smiled. “It still really bothers me if someone misperceives my behaviour as rude or dismissive. A lot of this is personal choice. Some people are just born with it. I don’t know, I think I just come from a long line of cheerful women.” (Source)

Kristin Cavallari, Jay Cutler Exchange Wedding Vows at Nashville Church Ceremony

Time to party! Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler had a wedding ceremony in Nashville, Tenn. on Saturday, June 8, Us Weekly can confirm.
After tying the knot at the Davidson County Clerk's office in Nashville, Tenn. on Friday, June 7 -- buying a marriage license and tweeting pictures of their wedding rings -- the couple celebrated with a ceremony at the Woodmont Christian Church on Saturday, June 8.
According to the church's website, the venue where the couple said "I do" was listed #1 on Martha Stewart's "Wedding Ceremony Locations in the South," described as "small and traditional with a bright, modern interior and a skyscraping steeple."
A source tells Us that the couple's friends started celebrations the night before at Robert's Western World in Nashville on Friday night.
The former Hills star, 26, and the Chicago Bears quarterback, 30, welcomed their first child together, son Camden, last August. They were first engaged in April 2011, but briefly called it off in July 2011 before reconciling.
"It's going to be about 150 people, so not huge," Cavallari told Us in May of the nuptials. "I was never the girl who dreamt about my wedding or any of that stuff, but the wedding how we're planning is exactly what I wanted. I think it's going to be perfect for what we're doing." (Source)

Scarlett Johansson Sues French Publisher

Scarlett Johansson is not saying "oui, oui" to a bestselling novel in France, suing publisher JC Lattes for the unauthorized use of her name.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress is less than pleased that she was depicted in the book, The First Thing We Look At, and has filed a lawsuit, seeking compensation and damages for “breach and fraudulent use of personal rights,” and seeks a ban on “future transfer of rights and adaptations of the book.”
The book, which was published in France on March 20, reportedly centers around a mechanic who meets a woman asking for help. The mechanic believes the woman is Johansson, but the character is actually revealed as a woman named Jeanine Foucaprez, who looks nearly identical to the Avengers actress.
The book's author, Gregoire Delacourt, told French newspaper Le Figaro that he was “stunned” by the lawsuit.
“This corresponds with the fantasies of our times," he said, noting that he also compared a male lead character in the novel to actor Ryan Gosling. "All these famous people live with us. But I wrote a book of fiction. My character is not Scarlett Johansson, it is [character name] Jeanine Foucaprez!”
He added to French radio RTL, "It’s a bit silly to say that if you talk about a person, the courts have to get involved. That’s quite sad."
Johansson is currently filming her 2014 movie, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, reprising her role as Natasha Romanoff. (Source)

Justin Bieber Reveals Cover of New Single 'Heartbreaker'

Justin Bieber released the artwork of his upcoming single, "Heartbreaker", via his Instagram page on Tuesday, June 4. He posted the same image several times with different captions. "... Coming soon," he captioned the first one.
For the second caption, he apparently told his fans to help him promote the single, saying, "Tell a friend to tell a friend." "Don't tell me your my.... #justinbieber #heartbreaker," he wrote on the third picture before finally revealing the single title, "Heartbreaker #Justinbiebernewsingle."
The 19-year-old singer is not featured in the picture. The simple artwork, which slightly resembles Kanye West's "808 & Heartbreak" album cover, only sees a little cupid on the left side aiming his arrow at the purple faded heart.
Bieber hasn't confirmed when the single will be released or if it will be included in his forthcoming album.
While there's still no further words on Bieber's new single and album, Bieber's on-and-off girlfriend, Selena Gomez, has generously shared some details on her own release. After unveiling a new single, "Slow Down", she announced that her "Stars Dance" album would hit stores on July 23. (Source)

Michael Jackson mother accused of ‘extortion’

The head of concert promoters AEG Live has admitted in court in Los Angeles he believes a legal action filed by Michael Jackson’s mother Katherine is a “baseless extortion” attempt.
Katherine Jackson claims the concert promoters failed to investigate the doctor who was later convicted of causing her son’s death in 2009.
AEG Live are being sued for $40 billion (£26 billion).
Randy Phillips says AEG bear no responsibility for Jackson’s death.
‘Shakedown’
When asked on Tuesday by Katherine Jackson’s lawyer whether he thought the case was a “baseless extortion, a shakedown of AEG Live”, Phillips answered: “Yes.”
It is likely he will be asked about numerous emails he sent and received about Jackson’s health in the final weeks of the singer’s life, as well as any interactions he had with his physician Conrad Murray.
AEG Live claims it was not responsible for the hire or supervision of the doctor and has called the legal action “preposterous”.
AEG denies hiring Murray and agreeing to pay his fee as an advance to Michael Jackson.
Murray agreed to serve as the pop star’s doctor for $150,000 a month while he performed shows at London’s 02 Arena in 2009 and early 2010.
He was convicted in 2011 of involuntary manslaughter after supplying Jackson with a surgical anaesthetic.
The civil trial is now in its sixth week. (Source)

Channing Tatum Talks New Baby: ‘I’d Never Medicate My Child’

Channing Tatum became a father for the first time last week with the arrival of daughter Everly and while he might be new to fatherhood it seems the Magic Mike star knows exactly what kind of dad he’s going to be, insisting in a new interview that he’ll never “medicate” his child if they have learning disabilities.
In a new interview, conducted before the arrival of his first child, the actor claimed that due to his own experience of being medicated to deal with behavioural issues he wouldn’t take the same route as it made him feel “soul less”.
“I truly believe some people need medication,” he told Vanity Fair magazine.
“I did not. I did better at school when I was on it, but it made me a zombie. You become obsessive. Dexedrine, Adderall. It’s like any other drug. It’s like coke, or crystal meth. The more you do, the less it works. For a time, it would work well.
He explained: “Then it worked less and my pain was more. I would go through wild bouts of depression, horrible comedowns. I understand why kids kill themselves. I absolutely do. You feel terrible. You feel soul-less. I’d never do it to my child.”
Reflecting on his own up bringing, Tatum admitted his parents weren’t always perfect and he’d try not to make the same mistakes.
“They weren’t perfect,” he claimed, “I don’t know anyone who did have perfect parents. It’s provided me with lessons I’ll try to improve upon when I’m up to bat. I’m just going to be a good friend to my kid.
“One thing I definitely want to change is that whole ‘I don’t want you to make the same mistakes’ mentality. My dad didn’t have much money growing up; he didn’t have much of an education. He forced that on me, and I didn’t want it.” (Source)

Kristen Stewart lands two new roles

Kristen Stewart has landed roles in both ‘Camp X-Ray’ and ‘Sils Maria’.
The 23-year-old actress has a busy summer ahead after committing to shoot Peter Sattler’s politically charged flick and Olivier Assayas’ new drama back-to-back, according to Deadline.
‘Camp X-Ray’ will be a big departure for the ‘Twilight’ actress, who is set to star as a young woman who joins the army in a bid to escape her small-town life, only to find herself sent to work at Guantanamo Bay detention camp. Suffering from abuse from the men in her charge, she forms an unlikely bond with a man who has been incarcerated for eight years.
Gina Kwon and Sophia are on board as producers, while Sattler will bring his own script to life.
Stewart will then join an A-list cast including Juliette Binoche and Chloe Grace Moretz in ‘Sils Maria’.
French filmmaker Assayas wrote the film about an actress suffering from a midlife crisis specifically for Binoche, who he worked with on ‘Summer Hours’.
Binoche’s character becomes obsessed with a young actress (Moretz) who is playing the part which originally made her famous, while Stewart has been cast as Binoche’s assistant.
The brunette recently pulled out of Warner Bros.’ forthcoming heist thriller ‘Focus’, and is also due to film a sequel to ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’. (Source)
