National University will enrol post-graduate students before the publication of results of the bachelor’s exams.
The system would be made effective from the current academic calendar in order to reduce prolonged academic life, National University controller of examinations Badruzzaman said.
If any student fails in bachelor course examination, her/his admission in the masters course will be cancelled, he said.
Normally, National University students get their results after more than about eight months of their final examinations, said a university official.
Students cannot complete any course on time as many of the courses have session jam up to three years.
Delay in the publication of results and delay in the admission process were mainly contributing to the session jam, the official said.
The National University was set up in 1992,
aiming at putting an end to the sufferings of the
students caused by the session jam.
The office of the controller of examinations said that on an average, 85,000 students usually graduated through bachelors programme from 1,978 educational institutions nationwide. (Source)
