Two injured in blast at Ekattor TV




Two programme officers of private channel Ekattor Television were injured in a fire caused by a minor blast of an air-conditioner at its office at Baridhara on Friday evening.
Of the injured programme officers, Tanvir Ahmed was admitted to a city hospital and Shamim Tanvir was given first aid at a local clinic.
Fire Service duty officer Shahazadi Sultana said that the fire broke out in a room of the television channel’s programme section on the first floor of the building at around 5:50pm.
The employees of the office put out the fire immediately, she said, adding that the fire originated from an electric short circuit of an air-conditioner in the room.
She said that the windowpanes of the room were broken in a minor blast of the air-conditioner. (Source)
